Tonight as fireworks burst in air across this great nation I will bow my knee in prayer and thank God for His grace and mercy toward our great country. I will pray for the protection of those who serve today. And I will thank God for those who went before; for their sacrifice, devotion, faith, and perseverance in the struggle for freedom and liberty. Men of character who set aside the comforts of home and family to provide the sanctity and way of life we enjoy today. The land of the free and the home of the brave. Long may she wave.

Amen! Beautiful post, well spoken and made my heart swell with pride of our country. Thanks for writing what is hopefully etched in many of our hearts. Love you! Always, DAF
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and beautiful thoughts. XOXO - Rachel
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words Susie. Love your card. I lived in Maryland for a couple years and one of the things I loved about the buildings in DC were the beautiful paintings like the one above!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! Living in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, I often take for granted the sacrifices that men made right in my back yard...thanks for the reminder. I, too, thank God for our country and PRAY fervently that we will get back to Him as our nation should.....it has strayed.
ReplyDeleteAmen, and thank you for sharing those truths. We need to be grateful indeed for all who have paid a price for freedom! May God continue to bless America.
