Let the healing start;
In the prison of his days,
Teach the free man to praise."
~ W.H. Auden
Spring time in the desert is a beautiful time of year. Temperatures rise, awakening seeds that breathe life into it's rocky and sandy soil. Cacti bring forth ruby blooms with hints of orange zest. Large and small, they stretch their petals toward the sun; hungry for every ounce of light.
Spring, a time of new life, new beginnings. A time to shed winter darkness. Allowing God's light to illuminate those desert places of our hearts. The places within that need the nourishment of His light to flourish and abound with beauty again.
Even in the desert, fragile becomes strong as it emerges from among the thorns.
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and words! There is a very special grace in desert blooms. I spent some time living on the Mojave. Where one finds bleakness, another finds beauty. I know you are one who finds beauty everywhere. Thanks for sharing some of it with us today, Susie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Susie! You captured the vibrant colors so well. I do tend to forget about the beauty of succulents here in the Northwest. Thank you for sharing your gracious thoughts and images and wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. – g
