Reach for the Stars

What a long reach for such a small ballerina - no worries, she has help from her friends!

This Reach for the Stars rubber stamp by Penny Black reminds me of a Hummel. And who doesn't love bunnies?! Because the stamp is large and the image delicate, I decided a simple layout was best. I stamped the image on Neenah Classic Solar White using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink, then colored with Copic Markers. The background designer paper (dp) is from Cosmo Cricket Delovely mini deck with white and yellow card stock matting. The image was trimmed out and popped up. White lace, a yellow bow on the diagonal, and small gold beads frame this sweet scene. Because this card will be presented to my great-niece for her 8th birthday in October, I added the Piece de resistance: the little toe-shoe charm in the lower right corner.

For the inside, I used Martha Stewart's lace border punch on the Delovely dp and layered that on yellow card stock. And, I couldn't resist another bunny {smiling}. I haven't stamped a sentiment yet. I'm still looking for just the right words.

This has been a labor of love and a real learning experience for me. You can be sure there will be more Penny Black stamps in my future {smiling}. So, until next time, where ever life's path takes you - Reach for the Stars!

sources: Stamp: Reach for the Stars, Penny Black - Stampers Dream; Papers: Neeah Solar White, yellow card stock, and Cosmo Cricket Delovely dp; Embellishments: gold beads, Michaels, lace and ribbon, Hobby Lobby. Copic Markers: Imagination International.

  4. Thank you so much for your encouraging comment on my John Wooden post. I don't think I've ever cried over the death of a celebrity figure like I have with his. He truly was a remarkable man and his legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched.

  18. Stunning! I am in love! I have to get that PB Stamp. I have so many of them and I have never seen this image! My DD will love it. I really love that you did something on the inside of the card! So many people don't bother and it is such a shame when so much work goes into the front. I think you are absolutely right, a clean simple layout works well...and I love the toe shoes...how ingenious of you :) Kelly
